This feature is well established and works across many devices and browser versions. It’s been available across browsers since March 2019.
The MediaEncryptedEvent interface of the Encrypted Media Extensions API contains the information associated with an encrypted event sent to a HTMLMediaElement when some initialization data is encountered in the media.
Constructor

Creates a new instance of a
MediaEncryptedEventobject.
Instance properties
This interface also inherits properties from its parent, Event.
MediaEncryptedEvent.initDataTypeRead only-
Returns a case-sensitive string with the type of the format of the initialization data found.
MediaEncryptedEvent.initDataRead only-
Returns an
ArrayBuffercontaining the initialization data found. If there is no initialization data associated with the format, it returnsnull.
